Dronkeys--Love the Red One!!!

Found a Toys R Us Exclusive plush red drokey for Baby Girl and I to share. Back of the box says:

Donkey and Dragon's little daughter is a furry, flying, fire-breathing beast of burden who's looking for a little adventure and a lot of fun!

No name given for her.

Wikipedia discusses the dronkeys. The following is just an excerpt about the mysterious red dronkey:

Some confusion exists as to the missing dronkey from Shrek 2. When the dronkeys were first introduced in the post-credits scene from Shrek 2, there were six total - including a unique individual which was red in color like her mother. She is nowhere to be seen in Shrek the Third. This was an unfortunate continuity error on the part of the filmmakers. It may have partly been due to the third film having new directors helm the production; the color and count of such minor characters may have been lost in the shuffle. In a speculative and strictly canon sense, the dronkey may possibly have died - or simply been relocated someplace else - in the time between Shrek 2 and Shrek the Third. However, it is still seen in some images and merchandise related to the third film.

Who Does She Take After? Lesse....

I think Baby Girl is taking after Kerrfunk. Check out the tops of our dressers.

It's STILL Hot!!!

The kitties are still trying to stay cool. Paddington staked out a spot right in front of the fan.

POTC 3 Film Broke at End!!!!!

Saw my boyfriend on (what I guess they're calling) pre-opening night...Thursay. The 8:00 showing was already sold-out, so we hit the 8:25 show, which was also pretty well sold-out.

Great movie. You can read all about it in wiki, but watch for spoilers. They got back to the style of the first movie after using the second movie to introduce Davy Jones and move the plot along.

Of all the luck, the film broke at the very end. We really didn't think we missed much ending, but after reading wiki and reading posts at online boards we think we missed a good 10 minutes of the end.

Just a good reason why I might have to go to see it again!
Oh, and we did receive re-admission tickets. Maybe use those to see Ratatouille in June.

Yup, Proof that I'm 30

I was trying to heat up some chicken nuggets and fries in the toaster oven for Baby Girl's supper. I had the food in the oven, the temp set, and the timer on. The timer dinged after the first 7ish minutes but the food was still icy.

That's when I realized....wait for it, wait for it....I hadn't plugged the darn thing in!!!

These things need to come equipped with a notice, or something, letting you know when you haven't plugged it in. GEESH!!! And to think that the timer ticking away gives such a false sense of security!

But, I guess most people don't need a reminder to plug the thing in first.

Maybe Alzheimer's is setting in already?!?! What's next? Leaving a pot of food cooking on the stovetop for hours on end, just to boil down to nothing and start the house on fire?
Well, I'll try to save that excitement for next year.

AAAAHHHH the twenties. I'm gonna miss you guys.

Party Planner at Work

As soon as Baby Girl's 4th-Ariel-ScoobyDoo birthday was over, she was talking about her next birthday party theme, which she says is to be a Jasmine birthday party. She said today that she might like a purple cake.

I don't think Disney has Jasmine-specific party supplies like I could find for Ariel. Jasmine is always with the other princesses. A result of being a minority princess, I guess.

Baby Girl also coordinated Daddy's birthday. She directed him to sit in the special birthday chair and she brought presents to him for opening. She wanted everything to be just right for him!

Baby Girl is certainly the party planner.

Mother's Day Poem from the Kitties

I received a Mother's Day card from Paddington and Rudy. They addressed it to the "provider of treats and scooper of litter."

The poem inside the card read

Love the way you stroke my fur,
let me stalk you,
make me purr,
Open cans of things delicious
(things that smell like little fishes),
Love the way we play...
Oh, mew!

A Dancer in Our Midst

Baby Girl had dance pix today.
Glad I was able to get her hair into the required tight, dancer-style bun.

Grocery Store Priorities

I won't bother running to the store when we run out of milk. Leave that to Kerrfunk. But, if, heaven forbid, we should run out of ice cream!?!?!? No question, I'm at the store in a jiffy.

Crazy Cat Likes Water

We've discovered that Rudy likes water. Therefore, our disciplinary method of squirting bad behavior with a water bottle doesn't work on Rudy.

Two Hot Kitties

This is what we do when it's hot (above 70 degrees).

Stretch out and stay cool!

A Special Philosophy of Women and Aging

I think you'll like 30. Women are sort of at their finest from say 30 to 45. Like fine wine at its peak age. Enjoy! Love, Mary

Milestone Birthday Includes Bar Fight!!

My milestone birthday was today. Whew! Did I really survive it?
It really has been a few fun days leading up to it, though. Started out on Friday night at Texas Roadhouse where I got to ride "the saddle". It was meant for my friend who was also celebrating a milestone birthday (older, I might add). But we didn't know which one of us it was for, so I got on. Provided some laughs when I asked, "How do I get off?" Always glad to provide a chuckle at the risk of looking like a complete idiot (which isn't hard for me to do).

After Roadhouse we headed a local dive bar where our group proceeded to be the victims of a bar fight. Although it was very exciting and entertaining (and a bit scary), I won't go into many details. Just know that the bar fight involved the following things: coin bouncing, piano playing, magic tricks, beer, wedding in October, big boobs, 90 acres, counseling, disheveled glasses, a good clocking, a kitchen passage-way, beer bottle and baseball bat in hand, and regrouping at the parsonage. YEAH BABY!!!! Use your imagination to fill in the blanks.

Saturday was spent in South Street Phila and El Rodeo for Cinco de Mayo.

Sunday was pretty much sleep day.

Today was work, then came home to a scavenger hunt for all the cards I received for the "card bomb" or "card shower," if you prefer. We think there are over 100 cards! WOW!! And thanks to everyone. I'm having a great time opening them. It's so heart warming to know that so many people would put the effort into selecting, writing, and sending a card to me. Very thoughtful!

Hubby dun good.

The best part of my birthday happened tonight when Kerrfunk and Baby Girl sang happy bithday to me and I cried. I really must be turning into an old sap.

But it was all so SWEET (well, except for the bar fight part)!!!!
